Lets say you want a phone that is for sale for $300.. if there is a $50 mail-in rebate it would say $250 with $50 mail in-rebate.. so usually you pay the full $300 and then you mail in this coupon and you will get a check back for $50... the contract is your service plan, usually you agree to pay so much a month with a certain provider for 2 years.. you most be sure you want this because to cancel your contract may cost you hundreds of dollars..

so i believe you would pat $179 up front and sign a contract saying you will agree to stay with this provider for 2 years paying X amount a month.. after you mail in your rebate you will get $50 back..

hope this helps, good luck

It means you have to keep your wireless service with that provider for that contract length, or else they will charge you a penalty to leave early.
